Headland Psychology take low risk referrals for the following areas of focus:
- Anxiety (social, performance, generalised, selective mutism)
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Depression
- Neuro-affirming therapy (for our ADHDers, autistics, AuDHDers, dyslexics etc)
- Identity Development
- Grief and loss
- General Life Challenges including friendship issues, transitioning to high school, exploring gender, stress around school work.
- Dissociative Identity Disorder
- Complex and Chronic PTSD
What therapy modalities do we use?
We take a tailored approach for each individual client, and draw on a range of therapeutic modalities to provide support. If you have a preferred modality, please let your psychologist know.
- Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Schema Therapy (please note I can only use elements of this via Telehealth)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Supportive Counselling
- Structured Problem Solving
- Image Rescripting Therapy (for nightmares and flashbacks)
- Exposure and Response Prevention (for OCD)
- Gradual Exposure Therapy (for anxiety and panic)
- Motivational Interviewing
Please note, Telehealth is more appropriate for low risk individuals; we cannot offer the same level of support as a clinician that you see face to face and would recommend seeking out a psychologist in your area if you feel you require that additional support.
